Business Cross-Promotion

Two businesses promote each other and help each other make a sale.

Clear
How cross-promotion works

You and another member promote each other's products and services — on social media, and to the people you already know — so that each of you helps the other make a sale. Nothing is bought or sold on Help Barter. The promotion happens on your own channels, the sale happens in your own business, and any money moves between the two of you.

Mutual

Both businesses get promoted. You post about theirs, they post about yours, and each of you records what you did for the other.

Single side

Only the listed business is promoted. Whoever does the promoting is paid for it, or takes a commission on the sales they bring in, or both.

  1. 1. Open a card and the details are sent as a message. On a mutual card both sides' details are exchanged at once.
  2. 2. Talk it over in the thread. Nothing is agreed until you both press Start partnership.
  3. 3. Do the work, and record each promotion cycle, sale and commission as it happens. The other person confirms it.
  4. 4. Everything confirmed goes on both of your track records, which anybody can read.
The rules
Sales commission sharing
When a card offers it, a percentage of every sale that came through your partner is theirs. On a mutual card that runs both ways; on a single-side card the listed business pays it. The percentage is on the card before you join, and it is what you both agreed to.
The terms cannot change after you join
Whatever a card said the day you joined is copied into your partnership and stays there. The owner can edit the card afterwards — it changes what new partners agree to, never what you did.
No deadline, no time limit
A partnership runs until somebody ends it, and either side can end it alone. Nothing expires and nothing is swept away.
Both sides confirm, or it is contested
A promotion cycle, a sale or a commission counts once the other person agrees it happened. If they contest it they have 72 hours to withdraw; after that the contest stands on both of your track records, and the person it was raised against can contest back. If you both contest, the partnership is paused until one of you withdraws.
The money is between the two of you
Help Barter holds nothing, takes nothing and settles nothing. There is no escrow and no arbitration. The track record is the whole of what protects you, which is why it is worth reading somebody's before you start.

Nothing matches those filters.

Try widening the search — clearing the country usually does it.

Put your business on this board

It costs nothing. You need a Business Listing, which is where your name, logo and location are read from — and which a human has already read.
