How listings work
Buying, writing, approval, going live, editing, extending and deactivating.
Why list on Help Barter
Members come to Help Barter to find people, skills and services — a listing puts you in front of them at the moment they are looking. Each listing also works for you outside the site:
- Your own page at your own address —
/business/your-name,/profile/your-name,/organization/your-name,/post/your-headline. Public, readable by search engines and listed in our sitemap, so people searching for you can find it. - A link back to your website on that page, plus your social profiles, so readers go straight to where you sell. (As search engines ask of all paid placements, these links are marked nofollow; their value is the visitors and enquiries they bring.)
- Direct contact — call, email, WhatsApp and map buttons, and a Message button for members. Enquiries come to you, not through a middleman, and nobody takes a commission.
- Steady exposure — boards show people near them first, and a Board Feature puts you at the very top.

How every listing works
- Have a Premium or Elite membership
Spending in the store is part of a paid plan.
- Buy it in the store
Open the store, choose the kind of listing and how long it should run, and pay in Store Coins, Time Coins or both. You receive a credit for one listing.
- Write it from My listings
My listings shows your credit with a button to write the listing. Fill in the form at your own pace.
- Send it for review
Admin team monitors all listings.
- It goes live
On its board and at its own address, for the run you bought — counted from the day it is approved.
Approval, and what happens if it is refused
- Fixable problems — wrong section, too little detail, a dead link: the credit comes back with a note. Fix it and send it again.
- Breaking the rules — gambling, adult content, anything illegal: the credit is lost. The rules are shown on every form before you buy.
Editing, extending and deactivating
- Edit: 3 free edits per live listing, then 1,000 coins each (coupons are cheaper). Edits are read before they show; the current version stays live meanwhile.
- Extend: add another run from My listings at the store price. Time is added to what is left, never restarted.
- Deactivate: take a listing off the site without losing it, and reactivate it whenever you like. The run keeps counting while it is off.
