Profile Listing

What it is

Your personal page — a CV, a portfolio and a "hire me" in one — at /profile/your-name, listed on the Profile Listings board.

It is different from your member profile: your member profile is about trading help on Help Barter; a Profile Listing is a public page that sells you to clients and employers.

What it does for you

• Clients find you by skill, profession and location on the board.
• A page to send people to — one address with your experience, your best work and your rate.
• Shows up when people search your name — public and in our sitemap.
• Direct enquiries through your contact details and the Message button.

What goes on the page

About is the only part you must fill in: your full name, a photo, your profession, where you are, and a few paragraphs about you. Everything else is optional and only appears if you fill it in:

• Job experience, education and certifications — up to 15 of each.
• Portfolio — up to 10 pieces, each a link to where the work already lives. A YouTube link plays right on the page; anything else shows as a picture.
• Hire me — your rate, what you deliver and three short points.
• Products and services — up to 24, with photos, prices and a buy link.

What it costs

Pay in Store Coins, Time Coins or both. Buying in the store needs a Premium or Elite membership. "Lifetime" means for as long as Help Barter exists.

Step by step: from buying to live

1. Open it in the store

   Store → Profile Listing. The page shows what is included and every run on offer.

2. Choose how long, and buy

   Pick a run, pick how to pay (Store Coins, Time Coins or both) and confirm. You now hold one Profile Listing credit — nothing is public yet.

3. Write it

   Go to My listings and press List portfolio profile. Fill in About first; add experience, portfolio and the rest only if you have them — empty sections simply do not show. Writing costs nothing more: your credit pays for it.

4. Submit it for review

   Admin team monitors all listings. You can still change a listing for free while it waits.

5. It goes live

   You get a notification, and it appears on the Profile Listings board and at /profile/your-name for the run you bought, counted from the day it is approved.

Once it is live

• Edit it from My listings. The first 3 edits are free, then 1,000 coins each. Every edit is read again; your live version keeps showing while it waits.
• Extend it before or after it ends — the new run is added to the time left, never restarted.
• Deactivate it to take it down for a while, and reactivate it later. The run keeps counting down while it is off.

Tips

• A clear, friendly head-and-shoulders photo does more than any sentence.
• Put your three best pieces of work first in the portfolio.
• State a rate. "From $25 an hour" gets more enquiries than "ask me".
